Cisco switches can be used as plug-and-play devices out of the box but they also offer an enormous amount of features. Although the main purpose of the switch is to provide inter-connectivity in Layer 2 for the connected devices of the network, there are myriad features and functionalities that can be configured on Cisco Switches.
In the following Cisco Switch Commands Cheat Sheet, I have tried to include the most important and frequently-used CLI commands that Cisco professionals encounter in real world networks. I know that the list is not exhaustive but I believe that the most useful commands are included. Make sure to download the whole commands cheat sheet in PDF format below so you can print it or save it on your computer for future reference.

The following commands will work on most Cisco switch models such as 4500, 3850, 3650, 2960, 3560 etc.
Verification Commands:

- Cisco 3850 stack member 1 current state stuck on syncing and stack member 2 stuck at sync not started. Its a ws-c3850-48t. 16:18:21.763:%STACKMGR-1-RELOADREQUEST: 1 stack-mgr: Received reload request for switch 3, reason Reload Slot Command. 16:18:21.794:%STACKMGR-1-RELOAD: MEMBER: 3 stack-mgr: Reloading due to reason Reload Slot.
- You can use the reload at command to schedule a reboot of the whole stack but there is no way that I'm aware of to reload an individual stack member at a specific time, without resorting to third-party tools to issue the reload slot command at a specific time. Edit 1: To set your stack member priorities, you can use the command switch priority.
- Solved: Hi Experts, I would like to know if, lets say, we have 5 or 6 switches in a stack, but I want to reload all the devices at once, which command should I use? I have seen the reload slot i d command, but the slot is referencing the switch.
- To copy the software to upgrade Cisco 3850 IOS: Copy the image file into the root of drive and insert the USB drive into the USB slot on the front of the 3850. From the Command line verify that the switch can recognize the file system. Dir usbflash0: This should list all the files on your USB.

Resetting the Switch

Setting Host Names

PortFast
“Portfast” bypasses the Spanning Tree states and brings the port up as quickly as possible. Use it only if you connect a regular host (e.g Computer) on the port. Do not use this command when the port is trunk or if you connect other switches on the specific port.
